The official name of the forms in my possession is "PETITION IN LIEU OF FILING FEE"
The signatures on these forms go towards the reduction in filing fee that must be paid.
The period where Nomination Papers will be officially circulated by candidates is November 13 - December 8.
However, valid signatures on the "PETITION IN LIEU OF FILING FEE" remove the need for the candidate to collect signatures on the official nomination papers, as per California Elections Code § 8061.
So, a signature on the "PETITION IN LIEU OF FILING FEE" is considered a "nomination," and is referred to as such on this domain.
